Hair chalk pastels are super easy to apply, come in all cool colors, are not permanent plus they cost so little!
Change the color of your locks or create gorgeous hair art or for a day, a night or a special occasion! Green, purple, blue or pink?
Try any color or as many colors as you like! Hair chalking is the absolute trend this season!
Master it now by just following a few easy tips:
Before:
- Get yourself chalk pastels from a craft or an art shop or hair color chalk. Oil pastels, chalk, pastels or anything that sounds like it, may also do but won’t do the same job
- Your hair should be clean and wet if your hair is dark
- Your hair should be clean and dry if you have light hair such as blonde, light red or light blonde hair.
- Put on rubber gloves and a cape for the chalk dust. It can get really messy
- You will also need a flat iron or curling iron
During:
- Twist your hair while using the chalk. That way, it will release more color
- Brush gently the excess chalk after finishing each lock
- Wait for all strands to air dry and then use the iron to set the colors.
After:
- A good brush may be all you need to take out the chalk. If not, brushing before shampooing will take out most of the color.
- Chalk dries your hair. Do not use it more than once a week if you really really like it. Or you can always use a moisturizing mask afterwards.

Beware:
- Hair chalk pastels will fall on your clothes all day so either choose an updo or wear a closer color to your hair
- Remember that if you have blonde hair and you chalk them while your hair is wet, then the chalk will stain (light and especially blonde) hair for 2 to 5 washes. If you are not sure whether you should wet your hair or not, try to chalk a wet lock and see if you are happy with the color and if it comes out easily afterwards
