How to naturally lighten your skin

Whether you want to naturally bleach your skin, remove dark patches, tanning or just improve it’s tone and gain a natural glow then try some homemade natural remedies that will do the trick in no time!

If your skin always had a darker tone due to heredity or as a result of numerous things such as exposure to sun without protection or lack of proper facial cleanser or makeup remover, then try makeup or the following homemade remedies and gain a shiny healthy tone!

Lemon

Citric acid in lemon can offer a natural bleach to your skin but you should make sure that you apply moisturizer afterwards because acids dry the skin.

Cut a lemon in half and rub it on your face. Do this once a day for quicker results or twice a week for 10-20 minutes. Also, for better results on dark patches, rub a lemon rind over them.

In case lemon juice hurts or turns your skin red, then you should dilute it with water or just rinse it with cold water and try another method.

Yogurt

Nature’s mildest bleach can make your skin look a lot brighter and lighter while in the same time it will moisturize it especially if you mix it with honey!

Mix 1 tablespoon of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of honey and apply it for 15 minutes or more to your face at least every day.

Turmeric

A well known natural bleaching ingredient that is also used for face cleansing. Prepare a paste using 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon chickpea flour (or rice flour) and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Apply it on your face.

Do this 4-5 times a week for 15-20 minutes and rinse off. For better results you could add a teaspoon of lemon juice.

Sandalwood

A very effective remedy to remove dark spots and lighten your skin tone, especially if you mix it with milk which also has a bleaching effect.

Mix 1 tablespoon of red sandalwood (powder) with 1 tablespoon of milk and apply it to your face for 20 minutes at least twice a week.

You should also help your results following some simple rules:

  • keep your skin moisturized and drink plenty of water

  • exfoliate your skin frequently

  • properly remove makeup every day

  • avoid sun exposure (at least not without protection)

If you want quicker results, you should try makeup and especially foundation and concealer or you could get a good skin whitening cream but as a rule of thumb you should always take proper care of your skin or no method will ever give you a glowing skin. At least not for long.

Now who’s the fairest?  ;)
