The Complete Beauty Guide to Master Makeup - Expert Tips On Healthy Makeup Application

Makeup may sometimes hide dangers and diseases if you are not aware of the essential precautions and hygiene rules.

Learn all the expert hygiene tips on how to protect your makeup tools, how to choose your makeup products and the safest way to apply your makeup.

MAKEUP HYGIENE

Always make sure that your hands and face are clean before applying makeup and that your hair is pulled back without touching your face during your makeup application.

At least every 30 days you should clean all your makeup tools very thoroughly.
After washing them, use equal quantities of water and vinegar to rinse, for extra sanitation.

Also remember that sponges should be cleaned after every use.

NEVER share your makeup tools or products with no one. NO ONE!
Even, if it is your own mother or sister. There are too many germs, bacteria and diseases involved to even begin analyzing.

So just don’t.

If you apply your lipstick directly on your lips, then you should wipe it with a tissue every time to avoid contamination.

Regularly sharpen your pencils to remove bacteria on their tip

As a rule of thumb don't use your makeup products more than a certain period of time. Get rid of them, depending on their texture. Some products may have expiring dates but usually, makeup products don’t.

Here’s what you should know: Liquids last for about 6 months, creams about 1 year while powders and pencils can be used for no more than 2 years.

Mascara should never be used more than six months. Also, remember to keep your makeup in a cool and dry place.

You may extend the lifetime of your makeup products if you keep them in the refrigerator.

But this is not always handy because that means that you can never take them with you (once you keep them in the fringe, you can’t take them out for longer than 2 or 3 hours and then put them back).

Always check the appearance and the smell of your makeup. If it looks altered or smells different, don’t risk it.

Throw it away and replace it with a new one especially if it's meant for your eyes.

AVOID ALLERGIES

You should first test any product you buy for allergies and then apply it on your face.

In case you discover an allergy, visit a doctor in order to determine the exact cause of the allergy to avoid it on your future makeup purchases.
