Knowing your type of skin is essential before proceeding with the preparation for makeup application.
Actually, the 4 basic types of skin are pretty obvious in most cases and very simple to distinguish just by reading their basic characteristics although some people only have to read their names and they already know their type of skin.
So, just read and answer to yourself. Is your skin normal, oily or dry? If it is still not clear, let us help you a bit.
Types of skin are actually a way to name the balance of oil and water on your skin. This balance shows how healthy is your skin.
When water and oil are balanced then your skin is normal. When you lack water, then your skin is oily.
Dry skin on the other hand, is when you lack oil or both oil and water. You still can’t tell your skin type?
Ask yourself these four questions and you will find out your skin type:
1. Is your skin smooth, balanced, with fine texture most of the time? Then, your skin is normal.
2. Does your skin feel dry, is it aging faster, or covered by surface wrinkles? Yes, that is dry skin.
3. Have you got blackheads and a greasy skin? Is it dry but oily the same time? Your wrinkles tend to be deep and big? That is oily skin.
4. Does your face combine dry and oily skin? Is it oily in the nose, chin and forehead (called T zone) while dry everywhere else? That is combination skin.
Now that it is clear, remember that every complexion needs a moisturizer before applying makeup.
It helps the blending of materials, it is good for your skin and helps your makeup last longer.
Cleanse thoroughly your face and neck with soap, apply a small portion of moisturizer and wait 5-10 minutes until it is fully absorbed before you apply makeup.
