Beauty, skin, nails, hair. Dos and dont's.

Learn the rules so you know you are breaking them!

There are rules in beauty and there are rules in breaking the rules

Learn the beauty do's & dont's in skin treatments, hair styling, makeup and nails.

You may break every single beauty rule there is but you must first know if you are starting a trend or you are just clueless!

It’s  true that in the era of social media, many trends have started by people who unintentionally (or so it appears) break a rule either out of necessity or out of unconscious understanding of how style, fashion and trends work or could really work especially on them.

And this is amazing since everyday people have now the chance to become trend setters on what they are most passionate about like Kim Kardashian.

No one could think a decade ago that one single photo of your manicure art for example, could go viral be shared by thousands in just a few hours! Of course, there is always the other side, which in our case is about to overtake the good one.

Yes, we all have to agree that there are also the cases of people breaking rules out of complete ignorance, out of pure stupidity or worse, out of a rather strange way to seek attention considering that their online photos will be there for an eternity to haunt them with shame.
For instance:

But enough with theory.
In plain words, if you wish to avoid doing a fatal beauty mistake then take a look at the most basic things to avoid:

Skin

Don't over bronze with those bad sunless tan lotions.
You either get an ugly orange color or an excessive fake tan that if it doesn't embarrass you, it will embarrass your friends. Try following the instructions, making first a test or using a natural recipe for a sunless lotion!

If you don't have tanorexia then you should really consider asking your friends what they think of your color before going out. Just think of all those ugly tanned girls' photos people make fun of everyday in social media.

Don't squeeze blackheads unless your skin is made of white rubber.
You can cause redness, zits, red spots and even infections, acne or worse. There are easier methods to get rid of blackheads! ;)

If you hate dark spots start using a sunscreen!
It will also protect you from all the damages caused to your skin by the sun such as wrinkles, redness or premature aging! If you already have dark spots, start using a sunscreen immediately and cover the existing with a concealer. You could also treat dark spots with a homemade recipe and lighten your skin naturally!
Don't cover your freckles!
Apart from the fact that freckles are really really cute and contrary to what you may think, most people like them a lot, you can't completely hide freckles with makeup without getting a fake mask result or half hidden freckles. In both cases, you lose.

Hair

Never let your roots show.
Unless it is part of your hairstyling - which between us is not as trendy anymore. So, never neglect the visit to your hair colorist, at least every other week, or if you can't make it, you could do it yourself or even get rid of coloring by getting a pixie cut! In any case stop posting those selfies with the black roots!

Split ends are not invisible.
They affect the overall look of your hairstyle and can make your hair look dirty, frizzy and dull. If you don’t want to trim your hair every 4-6 weeks then you should be certain that you don’t have split ends.

Makeup

You either wear heavy make up on your eyes or your lips.
You can’t use heavy makeup in both because the result will be too much. Unless of course you want it so. In any case you can take a look at the Complete Beauty Guide To Master Makeup and you will find great tips for your makeup!

Do not wear thick make up on your face that looks like a masc.
It's scary, it lasts for an hour or two most and then becomes a ruin plus your skin can't breathe! I know you want coverage but most people would prefer to see a pimple than a fake face.

Don't clump your lashes!
You need a good mascara and many layers to create the biggest volume but you should also arrange to have the time to wait each layer dry before you apply the next. If you don't wait, then you will clump you lashes and they will show fewer, smaller and messy. If you are looking for a good solution, you could apply false lashes yourself and get rid of mascara or you could follow some tips to improve your mascara application!

Always shape your brows and keep clean from stray hair.
But please don't overpluck unless you tried a virtual image of you to see if it looks good on you and you are a professional knowing exactly what you are doing. In other words, don't try it at home unless you know how to shape brows.

Nails

With all this mani mania trend, you really shouldn't care whether your nail polish matches your lipstick, clothes, toes - and I don't know what else those fashion editors have thought about- or your nail style or length. You can polish them or not and absolutely do anything you like, as long as you follow one single rule:

Keep your nails clean and healthy.

That's it!

Oh, and one more rule about nails:

Never EVER do the oyster nails. EVER!

 Now, who's the fairest?   ;)
